Where does your Teamster Local 688 dues dollar go?
Dues provide the resources to stand up for good jobs and benefits, decent working conditions and a better future for our families. That's why union members earn 15 percent more on average than nonunion workers. Only unions provide a real voice for families at work—not politicians or upper management.

Teamster union dues are two-and-one-half times the hourly wage rate. For example, if you make $10 an hour, dues are approximately $25 per month. Local 688 charges a one-time initiation fee when members join based upon starting pay. We pay union dues to fund contract negotiation, servicing, organizing, education and training programs, research, office rent and equipment and regular administrative expenses. We keep overhead low: $.71 of every dues dollar goes to direct member services. The other twenty-nine percent funds organizing, administrative, asset growth and charitable expenses. Local 688 has a committee, comprised of rank-and-file members, that develops and approves your union’s budget.
