John Becker has a long history of embracing new challenges in the workplace. He spent 17 years working for Coca Cola, performing the jobs of helper, driver, and merchandiser. As Chief Shop Steward, he instituted a unique system in which crew leaders were designated responsibilities. "It spread out the involvement to reach more people," Becker said. "It was a completely new idea to a lot of people." As Business Agent, Becker says he enjoys educating members about how the union can help them.
